Kattie Laur
Podcast Producer | Strategist | Writer
Kattie Laur is podcast strategist, producer, and writer based in Brantford, Ontario. She's had a life-long love of public radio and has been clinging to the podcasting space since 2013.
Her experience in both professional and independent podcasting have led her down a path of advocacy for Canadian podcasters, with a keen interest in making the industry sustainable, equitable and world-renowned. That’s why she created Pod the North, the biweekly newsletter for the Canadian podcasting ecosystem that features interviews, podcast discovery, and Canadian podcasting news and goes out to nearly 2000 subscribers from across the podcasting industry.
Kattie’s career as an award-winning freelance podcast producer was spent working on projects with Vocal Fry Studios, Canadaland, Shayla Oulette Stonechild, BetaKit, and many more. In April 2024, Kattie made the decision to leave freelancing behind to continue her focus on podcast community building (and work-life balance), and joined the team at Bumper, a data-driven podcast growth agency, as a Podcast Growth Specialist.
Kattie also hosts Pod the North's flagship podcast, Canardian: the podcast gossiping about Canadian hometowns — recently named one of Apple Podcasts Favourite Podcasts of 2024.

A commitment: In creating podcasts we are building audiences that return week after week to hear our voices. I will use my voice and services to be anti-racist and speak against violence, injustice and inequality. We must always encourage our audiences to be educated, engaged, and to take action. #PodcastersforJustice
